A bright future for everyone

by Jessica Vega Pederson

One of my family’s favorite activities this time of year is driving through our neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. Seeing the festive lights reminds me of how important safe neighborhoods and great communities are for all of us. As our community continues to grow, I want to ensure we build a sustainable future for everyone to enjoy.

While the affordable housing shortage makes it tough to find a home – folks already living here are facing rising rents, and even eviction. As Multnomah County Commissioner, I’ll be fighting to keep families in their homes.

Ensuring our growing community offers a bright future for everyone is a top priority for me.

A bright future for everyone also means our responses to climate change must apply to every corner of the district – through better transit, less pollution, and safer walking and biking routes. Everyone deserves to have a voice in these improvements. I plan to stand with and protect the diverse communities that make East Portland richer.

Housing and environmental justice are part of the foundation of a strong community – will you donate to build a community that works for everyone?

Meet Jessica

I am a mother, a business professional, a progressive Democrat, a proud resident of East Portland, and the first Latina elected to the Oregon House of Representatives.

I'm running for Multnomah County Commissioner because I believe everyone in our region deserves a fair shot. I want to make Multnomah County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I'm ready to get to work and I hope you'll join us!.
