Sign the petition: Multnomah County welcomes refugees!

by Jessica Vega Pederson

This fear-based rhetoric from extreme politicians calling for closing our doors to refugees needs to stop.

Tell the world: Multnomah County will say no to bigotry and keep our doors and hearts open to refugees!

East Portland is a dynamic place because of the people living here from all over the world. Immigrant and refugee communities add small businesses, restaurants, and churches that help fuel our economy and add vibrancy to our neighborhoods. They follow in the proud tradition of generations of immigrants who have come to the United States to create a better life for their families.

One reason I’m running for Multnomah County Commissioner is to stand with and protect our diverse communities. We’re richer for them, and I want people to know that. I’m standing with refugees that are seeking shelter and safety – sign the petition and join me!

Meet Jessica

I am a mother, a business professional, a progressive Democrat, a proud resident of East Portland, and the first Latina elected to the Oregon House of Representatives.

As Multnomah County Commissioner I’ve fought to make sure every member of our community has what they need to succeed. I want to make Multnomah County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I'm ready to get to work and I hope you'll join us!
